Representatives of the Russian and Kazakh universities met in Michurinsk

The 3rd joint regional coordination meeting took place in Michurinsk State Agrarian University on the 3-5th of May. The participants were elaborators of the SARUD master program from the Russian and Kazakh universities as well as the German experts in sustainable agriculture from the University of Hohenheim and the University of Nuertingen-Geislingen. There were presented the results of the range of project activities and current achievements. Besides, the progress and plans for the curriculum development and implementation of the master program in Russia and Kazakhstan were discussed. Special attention was paid to the quality control issues. The quality indicators of the new master curriculum were discussed and ideas on the members of the external quality control group collected.

Another important issue on the event agenda was the presentation of the draft structure of the SARUD knowledge platform and possible technical solutions, which are supposed to be applied in the nearest future. The presentation by the experts from the Russian State Agrarian University – Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy served an input for further discussion about the platform structure oriented to target groups, its respective contents, public and protected areas, user types and access rights. Future contributions in contents are to be provided by the project partners. Extra issues of the meeting were activities for dissemination of study information since the application period for the new SARUD master programme will start soon. It was decided to elaborate a joint flyer template to be used for addressing future SARUD students.

A part of the joint regional coordination meeting was the monitoring of the SARUD project by the expert of the National Erasmus+ Office in Russia, Ms. Anna Muravyeva. During the monitoring session the project activities and current achievements, including the project management structure and tools, rules and procedures of financial management, the project quality plan along with the curriculum development and implementation of the master program in Russia and Kazakhstan were presented. A valuable feedback was provided by the monitoring expert on the project quality assurance issues and curriculum development according to the Bologna standards. Subsequent to the results of the monitoring, all partners are supposed to fulfill some assignments on the curriculum improvement, in particular in terms of introduction of advanced teaching and evaluation methods. The tasks are to be fulfilled by the next consortium meeting to be hold in July in Astana in the framework of the interim project conference.
